The 2021 UMGC Global Service and Achievement Awards Celebration is a multi-day interactive engagement that acknowledges and honors the contributions of UMGC employees around the world. The event recognizes those celebrating milestone anniversaries, and several individual awards will be presented including the Presidential Awards, the Innovation Awards, the Bylee Massey Memorial Award, and the Distinguished Achievement Award.

December 3

Launch of the UMGC Global Challenge, a friendly competition to engage faculty and staff around the world.

Friday
December 3 - 1:00 p.m. ET

UMGC President Gregory Fowler will honor the Presidential, Bylee Massey Memorial, Innovation, and Distinguished Achievement award recipients at a ceremony in Adelphi, Maryland. The program will be livestreamed.

Deadline to enter UMGC Global Challenge

Join President Fowler live via Zoom Webinar for the live recognition of UMGC staff members who are celebrating service-year milestone anniversaries (employees celebrating one, five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service). The program will include the announcement of the winners of the UMGC Global Challenge.

Participate in the 2021 Global Challenge!

All staff are encouraged to participate in the UMGC Global Challenge! Show your UMGC spirit by submitting fun photos to the social media feed below! Each photo qualifies as one entry for the random drawing of three UMGC prizes. The challenge is open from December 3 –7, 2021. Winners will be announced live during the Global Service and Achievement Celebration Zoom Webinar on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 7:00 am (ET).

Nominations Open for Board of Regents' Awards

The University of Maryland Board of Regents’ Staff Awards represents the highest honors bestowed by the Board of Regents for achievements by exempt and nonexempt employees from institutions within the system. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, February 11, 2022.  Awards will be announced in mid-July 2022 and formally presented to the awardees at the Board of Regents September meeting.
