SPRING 2024 BOARD MEETING

MAY 21-22, 2024

The U.S. Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board will hold a public meeting in mid-May 2024, to review information on the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) research and development activities related to non-site-specific disposal of radioactive waste in crystalline host rocks and on corrosion of commercial spent nuclear fuel after disposal. The meeting will be held in the vicinity of Knoxville-Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and virtually.

The U.S. Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board (Board) is an independent federal agency in the executive branch of the U.S. Federal Government. The Board’s purpose is to perform independent technical and scientific peer review of the U.S. Department of Energy’s activities related to managing and disposing of high-level radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel.  The Board reports its findings & recommendations to Congress and the Secretary of Energy.
